Obituary for Ethel M Bradley

Ethel Mary Bradley, 92, of Missoula, passed away of natural causes Sunday, June 21, 2015, at her home.

She was born June 14, 1923, in Dillon to Roy and Irene Forrester. Her happy childhood on the family ranch allowed her to become accomplished in horsemanship. She attended Dillon public schools, was inducted into the National Honor Society and was valedictorian of her class.

Ethel Mary briefly attended Mills College, but her schooling was cut short by World War II. On Dec. 12, 1942, she married fellow Montanan Alan Bradley, who was in the Army Air Corps.

The couple moved to Alameda, California, and lived there until the end of the war. They then moved back to Dillon and on to Missoula in 1952.

Ethel Mary was active in PEO for 72 years (Chapter H). Bridge get-togethers were a favorite pastime. She was an avid gardener who, among many other things, grew beautiful roses and hydrangeas.

Ethel Mary lived life with an infectious sense of humor – her cup was always half full. Her unwavering ability to see the best in life and everyone around her is an example for her entire family.

Perhaps her proudest accomplishment was being an adoring mother to her four children.

Ethel Mary is survived by daughter, Kay (Bob Sheridan) and their children Kelly (Buck Lake), Kara Sheridan and Robb (Amy); son, Alan (Judy) and their children Al (Christy), Kelcy (Chris Edwards) and Haley (Ciche Pitcher); son, Beau (Deb) and their children Brooke (Gavin Murphy), Allison (Joe Curnow) and Kendall (Ryan Keltz); and daughter, Forey (Dan Cederberg) and their children Brad (Monica), Jenna Cederberg, Breland (Brady Tommerup) and Dac Cederberg. Her descendants include 22 great-grandchildren with the 23rd due soon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Bradley.

The love and support she gave her loved ones left a legacy that her family will always remember and cherish.

A celebration of Ethel Mary's life will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Garden City Funeral Home with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Mom suggests you keep your money in your pocket and instead treat yourself to lunch in her memory.
