Obituary for Ethan S. Miller

Ethan Scott Miller, 7, of Missoula, passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

He was born Oct. 3, 2007, in Missoula to Scott and Candy Miller. He was in first grade at Hellgate Elementary.

Ethan was a spark plug of non-stop action from the moment he woke up to well after the sun went down. He was always up for an adventure … no bike ride was too long, no trail to steep or rock too heavy to throw in the river. He lived every day to the fullest and still found time to stop and smell a flower or roll down a hill, just because the mood struck him. Dinner and bath time were only distractions that got in the way of his next big adventure. (When the universe needs saving who has time to eat?!) Ethan danced to his own beat and no one was a stranger to him. To Ethan, everyone was either a friend or simply waiting to be his next buddy. The world would be a better place if we all took a page from his book.

Survivors include his mother Candy; father Scott and older brother Matthew, all of Missoula.

A memorial is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Garden City Funeral Home, 1705 W. Broadway, Missoula, MT 59808. A private burial, closed to the public, will follow.

Ethan loved his blankets. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider a gift to Project Linus (projectlinus.org). Project Linus provides children in hospitals with blankets for security and comfort.
