Erving J. Kane, 63, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at Community Medical Center in Missoula. He contracted acute pneumonia and could not recover. He was born June 8, 1949 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to John Erving Kane and Lila Olive Kane.
Erv attended Franklin Grade School and graduated from Sentinel High School in 1968. He graduated from Automotive Tech School in Billings, MT a year later.
On May 31, 1980 Erv married Kathy Lou Van Spyk at Christ The King Church in Missoula.
Erv worked for over twenty years as a tech at Grizzly Lincoln Mercury and twelve years at the University of Montana Vehicle Shop.
Upon retirement, Erv continued to do small projects in his home shop. Erv was a quiet man and let his hands show and talk about his many car projects.
Erv was a loving husband and best friend; he spent a lot of good times with his many friends.
Erv's mom, Lila Kane, and his sister Leora Bourassa preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Kathy and brother-in-law Marty Bourassa and Kathy's brother and sister and their families.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Garden City Funeral Home with a reception following the service followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens where Erv will be buried near his sister.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
