Eric Carl. Hanson Sr

Eric Carl Hanson Sr., 66, of Missoula, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital.

Eric was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Mount Vernon, New York, to Richard and Elsie Hanson. He served briefly in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge. On June 13, 1970, he married Carol Lynn Saltonstall in Harrisville, Rhode Island.

Eric enjoyed traveling to several places in the West. His career involved machinist work, mostly with medical equipment. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed every moment of being a grandparent.

Eric was preceded in death by his son, Eric Carl Hanson Jr,. who passed away March 16, 1995. Survivors include his former wife and long-term friend, Carol Hanson; four daughters and their families, Tana Hanson of Washington, Lora Sullivan of Texas, Alice Howard of Montana and Sheryl Krzyzanowski of Idaho; one brother, Robert Hanson of Missouri; two sisters, Rita Raimondi of Rhode Island and Ruth Michaud of New Hampshire; and five grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m. at Frenchtown Pond. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
