Eric Thomas DeMers, 26, of Clinton, passed away at his home Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013.
Eric came to us in dramatic fashion on Sept. 26, 1987. Born to Holly and Ben DeMers, he did nothing but fill the lives of those around him with joy and laughter.
Born in Missoula, Eric Thomas DeMers grew to delight both his parents and siblings, older sister Kari and brother Bryce. Being the youngest of the three, he admired both of them yet developed an individuality and uniqueness only those who knew him could appreciate.
Eric attended Bonner Elementary School through his early years before moving to Bend, Ore., in 2001 and attending Mountain View High School, graduating in 2005. While in Bend, he surrounded himself with a new circle of friends, as his humor and personality drew people to him readily.
Eric resided in Oregon with his mother and near his sister and brother until his return to Montana in the summer of 2012.
The mountains and rivers of his home were enjoyed with his brother Bryce, his love Kim Geisreiter, and their four children (dogs), Bob, Sorra, Hubert and Frank.
His time with us far too short; he leaves us with tender, loving memories and a smile on our faces in remembrance of his huge, strong heart and wry sense of humor. He cared very much for his family.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred Jacobi and Raymond DeMers .
Eric is survived by his father, Ben DeMers, Ben's wife Susan and three stepsisters Kylie, Chelsie and Cory Rauch, all of Missoula; mother, Holly DeMers of Redmond, Ore.; soul mate, Kim Geisreiter and their four children, Bob, Sorra, Frank and Hubert; sister, Kari DeMers of Redmond and her two children Jordan and Aiyana; brother, Bryce DeMers of Missoula; grandmothers, Barbara Jacobi of Clinton and Jo DeMers of Missoula; and many more loving family and friends.
Eric now walks in peace with his Grandpa Fred and dog Autumn, making memories and having adventures together. We feel his arms enveloping us with his peaceful presence as he engulfs us in his love.
A celebration of Eric's life will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the home of Steve and Gina DeMers, 4200 Lochsa Lane, in Missoula. This will be a potluck, so bring a dish and your favorite "Doober" story to share. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home
