Ellen Porter

HUSON - Ellen C. Porter, age 48, of Huson, passed away peacefully at St. Patrick Hospital, December. 25, 2008, (Christmas Day) surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer.





Ellen was born April 17, (Easter), 1960, to parents Arthur and Yvonne (Wiggins) Porter in San Bernardino, Calif. She was active in Special Olympics, loved cooking, and was an excellent cook and baker, bringing many homemade goodies to the people at the Poverello Center, up until about one year ago. Every year she brought toys and gifts for the children at the Watson Children’s Center.





She is survived by her parents of Huson; sisters, Diane (Bob) Wikum of Huson, and Janet Porter of Missoula; brothers, Steven Porter of Oak Hills, Calif., and Jeff Porter of Yucaipa, Calif.; uncle, Robert Porter of Mission Hills, Calif.; aunt, Ruth Wiggins of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.





A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, December. 29, at the Garden City Funeral Home with Mass of the Resurrection services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December. 30, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Frenchtown. A reception will follow immediately at the church, with interment following at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula. Garden City Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
