Elaine M. Siltman, 92, of Missoula passed into heaven on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014.
She was born in Mankato, Minnesota, on Oct. 13, 1922, to Emil and Helma Bulow. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School, and worked at Biles-Coleman Lumber Co. in Omak, Washington, during Word War II, along with her sister Ethel. Elaine met Alfred C. Siltman at the church they attended, and they were married on June 28, 1947. They lived in Omak on a small farm until 1960, when they moved to Missoula with their family and Al took a job as superintendent at Intermountain Lumber Co. Elaine cherished her family. She was a strong, independent-minded Christian woman. She also enjoyed photography, cooking, gardening, especially flowers, and doing puzzles accompanied by in-depth conversations. She and Al were devoted, steadfast members of the Lutheran church all their days. They put their trust entirely in the salvation given to us freely by our Lord Jesus Christ. Her husband preceded her into heaven on March 9, 2012.
Remaining include four daughters and their families, Linda (Jim) Aronson of Darby, Lorraine (Bob) Miniati of Hot Springs, Laura (Charles) Fisher of Bozeman and Alice (Tom) Strong, Bentonville, Arkansas; one son and his family, Kurt (Julie) Siltman of Puyallup, Washington; two sisters, Ethel Petty of Missoula and Elda Dubke Mankato; one brother, Palmer Bulow of Mankato; seven grandchildren, Lori Aronson, Carisa Fisher, Kasey Fisher, Dereck Fisher, Paul Strong, Rachel Siltman, and Brenna Siltman; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. with funeral services starting at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Garden City Funeral Home, 1705 W. Broadway, with Pastor Justin Cloute officiating. Burial will follow at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery and a reception at the funeral home.
