Eileen Wedl Marcure, born June 27, 1934, in Cold Spring, Minn., went peacefully to heaven on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Her parents were John and Marie Wedl.
Eileen attended St. Boniface Catholic Grade and High School. She graduated with honors in 1951. She then attended the St. Cloud Hospital School of X-Ray Technology and graduated with an associate degree in 1953. She spent two years in Dakota Clinic in Fargo, N.D.
In 1956, she moved to Great Falls and opened Columbus Hospital's accredited School of X-Ray Technology. In 1957, she moved to Missoula and opened St. Patrick Hospital's accredited School of X-Ray Technology. She remained in that position for 15 years.
Eileen was married to Ed "Biz" Marcure on May 9, 1964. They worked side by side in the ranching and the insurance business until their retirement. Eileen's greatest love was and remains her beloved grandchildren.
Eileen is survived by son, Steve (Connie) and grandsons Hayden and Brody; son, Andre' (Bradie) and granddaughters Kaitlyn and Brittney; stepdaughter, Judith Lydia Mercure; sister, S. Lois Wedl, OSB; brother, Bob Wedl (Kathy); nephews, John (Megan)Wedl, Mike (Tracy) Wedl, Bill (Beth) Keenan, Tim (Julie) Keenan, John (Sue) Keenan and Greg Keenan, and niece, Mia Walden, and their families; and extended family, Rick (Linda), Kristen, Andrew, Jeanine, Nate, Sam, Terri Sue (Doug), Jeff and Jenna.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed "Biz" Marcure; her sisters, Joni Olmscheid S. Janice Wedl OSB, and Mary Alice Keenan; and stepson, Ken Marcure.
The family would like to thank Father Joe Fleming, Hunters Glen, Partners Hospice Bereavement Care, and her amazing friends for all of the love and care they gave to her over the years.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in the family plot at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Frenchtown. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Frenchtown. Luncheon will follow in the parish center.
Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Diabetes Association.
