Edna Mae Anthony of Missoula and Nine Mile passed away from chronic heart failure on Jan. 23, 2014. Edna
was born on 4/21/1934 to Amos and Mary Foose in Carlisle PA. Her mother passed away when Edna
was five and her sister Anna was seven years old. Amos remarried to Ida and to this union a brother
Jerry and sisters Judy and Elaine joined the family.
Edna dated Raymond Anthony for one year and married him on Jan. 12, 1953; two days before he left
for basic training in Georgia. She remained In Perry County PA, graduating from Green Park Union high school In June 1953. She then worked as a seamstress at Millerstown Dress factory while Raymond finished his three year obligation in the Army in Korea. They resided in Perry County PA where Edna's children Ray Jr., Dennis and Mary were born. The family relocated to Missoula in 1961 and Bonnie and Cherie
completed the family.
Edna had a strong work ethic, working at Hillside Manor as a c.n.a. for 19 years. She then worked for
Dept. of Family Services as a home health aide for 23 years and also provided care and home for Bev and
Edith until she was 65 years of age. Edna was a caregiver and homemaker for her entire life; her smile
and cooking were enduring. She enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics and sewing, and going out for firewood and also picking huckleberries. She loved flowers and sitting in the evening shade with Raymond watching the wildlife of Nine Mile Valley.

Edna was a devout Christian and the Alberton Community Church family meant much to her for so many years. She and Raymond celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January 2013 at the church fellowship hall. Thank you
