As I sit here amongst my dad's various things he collected, I've come to realize that he is a "kid
at heart", from his singing and dancing critters to his little wooden toys. I never looked at it quite
that way until now. Taking him grocery shopping was interesting, he was the "old man that
playfully bumped into your cart" as I stood by mortified. For all of you that he bumped into,
thank you for playing along. He loves babies, once again he would stop anyone who had a baby
and ask ifhe could touch his or her hand and in a "grampa" voice he would talk to them. When
Diane, his nurse, would call his name as we sat waiting to see his doctor he would get up and
teasingly walk as slow as he could smiling at Diane the whole time. Real funny dad!!
On October 9, 2014 this "kid at heart" had grown tired and could no longer play, as I stood by
mortified once again.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Darcy and son-in-law Bob Chaffee, and his step-son
Dennis. Survived by his wife Donna, Daughter Dorene and Son-in-law Joe Turk, Daughter
