Edgar Igarik, 67, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at St. Patrick Hospital, of lung cancer.
He was born on March 18, 1948, in Germany to Edgar M. and Neonilla Igarik. He grew up in Downey, California, where he spent his youth on the beach surfing the waves of the Pacific Ocean. After high school Ed joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Later he attended U.C. Santa Barbara, and then Humboldt State Universities. After a seasonal summer job in Idaho, Ed felt the rivers and mountains calling him and took a position with the U.S. Forest Service out of Ennis. Ed was an active participant in Trout Unlimited and volunteered for summer camps teaching children to fly fish at Georgetown Lake. He enjoyed fly fishing, hiking and camping.
A loving son, father and grandfather, he took a great deal of pride in his grandson and was happy for the addition of a granddaughter recently. He was a great lover of dogs. He loved to share music, poetry and good stories with friends and family.
Survivors include his mother, Neonilla of Brea, California; brother Charlie of Fresno, California; two daughters, Naomoi Connell of Missoula and Amanda Costner of Missoula; and two grandchildren, Orion and Ellowyn.
