– R. Earleen Adler, 78, passed away at Granite County Memorial Center in Philipsburg on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Earleen was born July 31, 1937, in Missoula to Earl and Montana (Buchanan) Dalberg. She was raised in Drummond and graduated with the Class of 1956. She married Walter "Wally" Adler in 1959.
Earleen drove a school bus for many years and enjoyed the kids who rode on her bus. They would call her Mrs. A. She also volunteered at Camp Mak-A-Dream and worked at several business in the area. She and husband Wally ran a store in Hall for a few years.
Earleen enjoyed needlework and knitting. She loved to cook and was always trying new recipes. Her Christmas cookies were the best, and her family looked forward to them every year.
Her trailer in Maxville was one of her favorite places to escape to. Where else could she do jigsaw puzzles and have such a beautiful view?
She was active in Girl Scouts, a worthy matron of the Eastern Star, mother adviseor of Rainbow Girls, active in Sew Crafties, and volunteered for the Drummond Historical Society.
Earleen and her husband enjoyed many hours going for rides on the four-wheelers, picking huckleberries and gathering firewood. She was greatly loved by her family and spent many enjoyable times with them.
Earleen was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Terri; her husband, Wally; and her parents. She is survived by sons Brad and Scott; her daughters-in-law, Amy and Pam; her grandchildren, Boe, Wyatt and wife Amanda, Barrett, Shay and Rezart of Hysham and Alex, Jake and MaKenzie of Drummond; her sister, Dolores Rose and husband Jim of Helena; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and dearest friends who are too many to mention (you know who you are).
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at New Chicago Cemetery in Drummond.
Gone but not forgotten ... until we see you again!
