Douglas Combs

Douglas Dean Combs, 86, of Missoula passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation center of natural causes. He was born June 22, 1938 in Missoula to parents Leonard and Jennie Combs. After high school, Douglas enlisted in the United States Navy. Returning home, he met the love of his life Joan while working at the Wilma theater. They were married on June 29, 1963. The only other love of his life was volunteering and public service. 

Douglas was a member of the Lions club for over 50 years, he served for the Masonic family and associated organizations for decades. Douglas was known for his desire to help, to give, tell jokes and have fun. He enjoyed dressing up as a clown for the Shrine circus, participating in parades and loved making everyone smile. During all his time volunteering and helping, Douglas made many life-long friendships and touched many lives. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Joan. He is survived by his sister, three children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

 

There will be a memorial service at Garden City Funeral Home on December 13, 2024 at 10:30am.
