Doris Mae Paulsen, 80, of Missoula, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at her home after a three-year struggle with cancer. She was born and raised in Piltzville. She married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Paulsen in 1954, and they spent their next 54 years together raising three children and actively participating in raising and loving 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Doris drove a school bus for 30 years for Beach Transportation. She was very active with our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bonner, especially with the quilting crew.
Doris was preceded in death by her father John Rucks, mother Francis Rucks, granddaughter Marissa Ori and her husband Bob Paulsen.
She is survived by her brother, Bill Rucks; sister, Marilyn (Bud) King; children, Rick and Donna Paulsen (Kirk, Beau, Eric and Kyla) of Stevensville, Sue and Keith Ori (Kellen, Alena and Brianna) of Kalispell, and Robin Paulsen (Kelsey, Courtney, Rebecca and Jon) of Missoula; along with nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bonner. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held for the family at a later time. The family suggests donations to Our Savior's Luther Church in Bonner.
