Doris Louise Hogan, 89, of Missoula, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at her home. She was born July 25, 1925, in Wheaton, Illinois, the daughter of Barbara (Konsbrook) and Nicholas Kammes.
Doris married the love of her life, Larry Hogan, in Chicago in 1946. A career mom, homemaker and caregiver, Doris and Larry raised their four children on the south side of Chicago. The family moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where she enjoyed being a volunteer in the critical care unit of Sacred Heart Hospital.
Following Larry's retirement, the couple built their retirement home in Arkdale, Wisconsin, where Doris enjoyed gardening, canning and the ever-abundant wildlife. In 2005, they moved to Missoula to be closer to their family. Larry preceded her in death in 2008.
Her family includes four children, Mike (Ann) Hogan of Florence, Patti D'Esmond of Mine Hill, New Jersey, Rick (Sue) Hogan of Florence and Kevin Hogan of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Shawn, Scott, Sara, Chris, Michael and Brian; and two great-grandchildren, Danny and Christopher.
Services for Doris were held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 9.
