Doreen Mary Richards

SEELEY LAKE – Doreen Mary Richards, 77, of Seeley Lake, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula of lung disease.

She was born July 29, 1935, in Seattle to parents, Marion and Dorthy Bordwell. Her siblings were Donald and Waldo Bordwell.

She was married on July 31, 1953, in Seattle to Douglas A. Richards. She attended Highline High School in Seattle. She received the Melvin Jones Fellow Humanitarian Award (Lions International) and was a Washington state legislator for 37 years. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, knitting and reading.

A very important part of Doreen's life was involvement with kids of any age, from sports to guidance and advice for life in general. She left a mark on us all.

She is survived by son, Tad (Tammy) Richards, grandson Tad Jr. (Ashley) Richards and great-grandchildren Addison and Elijah, granddaughter Tosha (David) Rozsnyia and great-grandchildren Urijah and Dawson; daughter, Terri (Mark) Townsend, grandson Cory (Becky) York and great-grandchildren James and Harrison, grandson Dustin (Ashleih) Dunlap and great-grandchildren, Kierra and Riley, grandson Shawn Dunlap (fiance Stef Smelich), grandson Travis (Ember) Townsend and great-grandson Tristan, granddaughter Brandi (Mike) Kuhl and great-grandchildren Tia and Logan; brother, Donald (Zeny) Bordwell, nieces Mitchie, Julie and Jo Anne and nephew Donald Jr.; brother, Waldo Boardwell (deceased) and niece Kim.

She was preceded in death by mother and father, Marion and Dorthy Bordwell; and bother, Waldo Boardwell.

Services officiated by Pastor Gary Wayne will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Mission Bible Fellowship, 3158 Highway 83 N., Seeley lake, MT 59868; (406) 677-2110.
