Donnal D. Roske was born in Ronan, MT to Joe and Mabel Roske on September 24, 1929 and passed away peacefully on August 6, 2016 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula at the age of 86 years.
Don attended grade school in Ronan, but didn’t graduate. He preferred to drive truck in the cherry and apple orchards in Washington state during his teen years.
Don joined the Army during the Korean conflict and served two years in Texas where he earned the highest honors of the 7th armored division at wire school for his knowledge of electricity. He was discharged in 1953.
Don’s passions were truck driving, train collections and anything electrical. He made lamps and digital clocks with lights and marbles.
Don worked as a TV repairman for 10 years and then got into truck driving for 16 years hauling groceries, lumber and grain.
Don married Elnora Dilley on May 20, 1956 in North Dakota and lived in Missoula for 60 years. They have 1 son, Glenn and a granddaughter Anna.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 half siblings, foster sister and nephew.
He is survived by his wife Elnora, son Glenn, granddaughter Anna, sister Barbara Legoo of Polson, nephew Brad West of Polson and foster brother Gene Bird.
Graveside services will be held Thursday August 11, 2016 at The Western Montana State Veteran Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.
