Donna Holt

October 6, 1930 — August 22, 2024

Donna Lee (Clausen) Holt 93, passed into the loving arms of Jesus August 22nd, 2024. She was born October 6th, 1930 along with her twin sister Monna, to Carl and Ella Clausen in Lewiston, ID. The family moved from there to Missoula where their sister Carla was born. Her parents owned and managed Clausen Refrigeration which was located on Higgins Ave. in downtown Missoula. She attended Missoula County High School and graduated in 1949.

On April 23, 1954 she married Lawrence M. Holt in Missoula. Within the next couple of years, by now Dr. Lawrence M. Holt, was drafted into the United States Air Force. They were stationed in Sacramento, CA. After serving, they returned to their home in Montana, where they opened his Optometric practice in Missoula, which is now Montana Eye Care.

Donna had a gentle and graceful spirit with a quick, but innocent wit. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and homemaker. She loved everything family; skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and especially cabin time on Flathead Lake in the summer. She was always in awe of God's creation. She loved all animals and critters and had the ability to grow anything. Growing a garden and making her yard and home beautiful was her art. Donna and Larry provided a loving, nurturing and wholesome family environment for their children, which is still treasured.

Donna, often playfully called, "Mommy Dearest" by her children, is survived by those children, Linda (Randy) Muri, Ross Holt, and Paula (Eric) Engdahl. Grandchildren Kellen (Katie) Havranek, Linlee Engdahl, Shelby (Jack) Bukovatz, Riley Muri, Renee and Lauren Holt, and great grandchildren Beau, Braxton, Tanner, and Marlyn.

We would like to thank the management and staff of Beehive Assisted Living for the great care Donna received over the last 10 years, and the tender care of hospice.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to our God, which giveth us the victory through

Our Lord Jesus Christ.          1 Corinthians 15:55-57 KJV
