Donna M. Curtis

Donna Curtis passed away unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital. She passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her.

Donna was born March 2, 1956, to Esther and Dick Golden. A lifelong Missoula resident, Donna graduated from Hellgate High School in 1974. While working at the University of Montana concessions, she fell in love with her future husband, Rick Curtis, whom she spent over 30 loving years with. Donna and Rick raised their son, David Curtis, together and recently welcomed their first grandchild, Brian Curtis, into the world.

Nothing was more important to Donna than her family, and the happiest moments of her life were spent with the ones who loved her so much. Donna worked in the Missoula County Public Schools system for over 19 years as a lunch attendant and bookkeeper, touching the lives of students and co-workers alike. The love and graciousness she radiated was a testament to Donna's heart and character. Her hobbies included crafts, sewing quilts, baking, softball, gardening, puzzles, and laughing until tears flowed.

Donna is survived by her husband, Rick Curtis; son, David (Stephanie) Curtis; grandson, Brian Curtis; brother, George (Jodi) Golden; sister, Dale Golden; niece, Jenny (Jim) Scott and their children Jacob, Jordan, Jessa and Jenna; niece, Jadi Curtis; nephew, Tatum (A.C.) Curtis and their child Savannah; and numerous other treasured relatives. Donna will be forever in our hearts.

A service will be held in honor of Donna at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Garden City Funeral Home with reception to follow. To honor Donna's memory, if you're inclined, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
