Our father, Donald “Don” Reeves of Big Arm, MT left this World on Saturday September 17th at the age of 77. He will be sadly missed & will always hold a place in many people’s hearts.
He was born April 20, 1945, in Butte, MT, to Bill and Helen Reeves. The family moved around the northwest since Bill, his father, was promoted within the Forest Service. They moved from Butte, MT to Grangeville ID, Dillion MT, Orofino ID, & finally Missoula, MT where he graduated from Loyola Sacred Heart in 1963
On August 26, 1975, he married the love of his life, Lela “Lynn” Rusk. They recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. They lived in Missoula where Don owned and operated Reeves Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning. He built a very successful business with an unmatched work ethic. He took a lot of pride in each job & worked very hard to ensure customer satisfaction. He personally oversaw every job to ensure it was done correctly. There wasn’t much need for advertising, since his business thrived from word-of-mouth. He was an integrity-filled man that customers loved, trusted, & respected the service he provided. After nearly 40 years of running his business, he retired and they moved to Big Arm, MT on Flathead Lake.
Don devoted his life & fiercely loved his large, extended tribe of Family & Friends. He is survived by his wife, Lynn, and four children. Daughter Kelly Reeves-Wright, daughter Traci (Vaughn) Wright, son Donny (Sasha) Reeves, & son Casey (April) Reeves. There are 13 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. Also survived by his Brother B.C. (Patty) Reeves, Brother-in-Law Dan Bracy Sr and many nieces, nephews, & cousins. Don had many close & dear friends that became Family as well. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Helen Reeves & sister, Joanne Bracy.
To know him is to love him. He was known for his sense of humor & quick wit. There was never a dull moment & you never quite knew what funny thing he was going to say. Many funny sayings, quotes & stories surround him. He was a grill master & loved nothing more than to grill up a feast for a crowd. All were invited & welcome to his home. He was a diehard Montana Grizzly fan & Washington Redskin Fan.
We would love for you to come & celebrate him Friday, September 30th at 11am. Garden City Mortuary 1705 W Broadway, Missoula, MT. There will be a reception to follow at Red’s Bar.
