Donald Lindsley, 83, of Missoula, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014. He was born Aug. 7, 1931, to Clyde and Gertrude Lindsley in Witford, North Dakota. Donald and his family moved to Missoula in 1944. A few short years later he met the love of his life, Betty L. Hardt. They were married June 16, 1951. They had three wonderful children.
A Korean War veteran, shortly following discharge worked for the Missoula Railroad. A carpenter by trade, Donald and his son Russell owned and operated R & L Construction, their quality work can be seen throughout Montana.
Donald was an avid outdoors man. His past times included camping, fishing and antelope hunting with family and friends
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Gertrude; brothers Darrell and Garvin; sisters Eva, Margie and Gen; son Jack E. Lindsley; and grandson Michael Roy Lee Jr.
Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; son Russell and daughter Gloria (Michael) Lee; grandchildren, James Lindsley, Tammy (Ronald) Sheppard, Brian and Christopher (Catrina) Lee; his six amazing great-grandchildren, Tyler and Casey Lindsley, Megan and Logen Dodge, Kiera and Peter Sheppard; siblings, Larry (Jeanie) Lindsley, Linda Minster, Rosemond France; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at the American Legion Banquet Hall located at 825 Ronan St. in Missoula.
