Donald George Howard, 67, of Alberton passed away Wed. May 17th at St. Patrick Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1950 to Audrey and Leon Howard in Marietta, GA.
In 1961 Don’s family moved to San Mateo, CA where he graduated from Aragon High School in 1968. Shortly after graduating Don moved to Montana where his sister Diane lived where he became a logger. He spent most of his life in Montana as a logger and sawyer. He loved being in the mountains and shooting guns with his brother Leon Howard.
On July 7, 1979 he married Janet Johnson and had three beautiful children George, Kevin and Kristy. He enjoyed living at his cabin that he built by hand at Mill Creek. His family later moved to a farm in Arlee, where they raised their three children.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting treasures and he could fix just about anything. Don was a true Montana man who loved God, his family and Montana.
He was an active member of the Alberton Community Church and you could find him there every Sunday sitting next to the church ladies.
He has joined his mother and father Audrey and Leon Howard in Heaven. Don is survived by his children George (Lenka Urbanova), Kevin (Carissa Heavy Runner) and Kristy Howard; his brother Leon (Janet) Howard; sister Diane (Byron) Schurg; grandchildren Mika West Wolf, Davian and Audrey Howard; nephews Dan and Dennis Schurg, Aaron Howard; niece Sarah Knight.
Honorary Pallbearers are George and Kevin Howard, Dan and Dennis Schurg, Aaron Howard, Pete Gharret, Reed Scott and Jimmy Larson.
A memorial service will be held on Sun. May 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alberton Community Church located at 421 Railroad Ave. in Alberton with Pastor Wayne officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
