Dolores Wiegert

July 21, 1934 — March 11, 2025

Dolores Betty Wiegert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, was called to her heavenly home on March 11, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on July 21, 1934, the third daughter of Frank and Clara Heuer.

From an early age, Dolores was nurtured in the Christian faith. She was baptized on August 12, 1934, and later confirmed her faith at Trinity Lutheran Church – Lone Oak in Eagan, Minnesota. She attended Christian Day School at Trinity Lutheran and later graduated from Rosemount High School. Following high school, she began her career at Aetna Insurance in St. Paul.

In 1953, Dolores met the love of her life, Raymond Wiegert, through church activities. After a five-year courtship, they were united in marriage on August 27, 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church – Lone Oak. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and ministry.

Their journey took them to Springfield, Illinois, while Raymond completed his seminary studies. In 1959, they moved to Osceola, Iowa, where their sons, Neal and Mark, were born. In 1964, the family settled in Roselle, Illinois, where they welcomed their daughter, Renee, in 1966. In 1975, a new chapter began as they moved to Missoula, Montana, where Raymond served as pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church. Later, they also served Trinity Lutheran Church in Superior, Montana, where they developed many cherished friendships.

Dolores was the epitome of a devoted pastor’s wife, supporting her husband’s ministry with love and dedication. She taught Sunday School, served as the church secretary, and found great joy in her church family. She was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering kindness.

One of Dolores’ greatest joys in life was her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She treasured time spent with them and delighted in their lives and accomplishments. She was also blessed to welcome two great-grandchildren, bringing her even more happiness in her later years.

In 1986, Dolores and Raymond endured the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, Renee, to cancer. Through life’s joys and sorrows, Dolores remained steadfast in her trust in the Lord, finding comfort in His promises.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Clara Heuer; her sisters, Mildred and Dorothy; and her daughter, Renee.

She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond; her sons, Neal (Joan) Wiegert of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and Mark (Kim) Wiegert of Lewistown, Montana; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Meredith), Nicholle (Parker), Jordan, Heather, Jenna, and Tanner; and her great-grandchildren, Paxton and Milo.

Dolores’ life was a testament to her faith, love, and service. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A service to honor and celebrate Dolores’ life will be held on Friday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Missoula, Montana, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula, Montana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Lutherans for Life in her honor.
