Dianna Jean Marie Reber Riley, 72, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, in her Missoula home. She was the daughter of Joe and Terry Reber, born May 27, 1943, in Palo Alto, California. Dianna attended St. Helena's Grade School, Cathedral High School and Helena High School, graduating in 1961 with her beloved class of exceptional women.
After four quarters at the University of Montana, where she became a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, a cheerleader for the Griz and a member of UM's ski team, she married Larry Riley on June 15, 1963. Together they raised five children. Her passion for history and literature led her to complete her degree at the UM in 1988.
Over the years, Dianna enjoyed her work as "chief cook and bottle washer" at Loyola Sacred Heart High School, as director of the Radio Reading Service and enjoyed completing a 26-mile marathon. In 1982, Dianna was a founding member of an Alternative Catholic Community, Spirit of Peace.
In 1968, she became involved with UM's first Black Studies Program. where she gave and received joy beyond measure. Dianna created the first and second Black Studies reunions (2009 and 2013), for which she received the University of Montana's Alumni Award in 2010.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry Riley; her children, Molly (Van Blakely), Christine, Michael, Shannon and Jordan (Porsche). Her treasured granddarlings are Arielle, Land and Meadow Riley and Emma and Sally Blakely; and a dear niece, Chris Noyd, and nephew, Greg Kendrick.

A memorial will be held at the University of Montana UC Ballroom on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m.
