DIANE RENEE ABRAMS
Diane Renee Abrams, 56, of Missoula, passed away on Sunday November 18th 2018 at St. Patrick Hospital.
She was born on August 25th, 1962, in Missoula to Paul and Ann Halttunen. She graduated from Manzano High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the year 1981. While in high school she participated in track and field.
In year 1985 and 1989 she had daughters Erin McKinney-Ellison and Ashley (McKinney) Morris with John McKinney. She was a very kind and involved mother; allowing daughters to per sue their interests in any area. Diane provided a very nurturing and loving environment even in the face of life’s challenges. Later in life she married Tom Abrams and continue to provide what Erin and Ashley needed and wanted.
In life she always put others before herself. She was full of compassion and positivity. Along with her kindness she was always up for a good laugh. Her laugh was so contagious and the simplest events could turn into a big giggle fest. One example was when she reached for a container of yogurt in the store and it turned out to be a reflection. Diane and daughters could not stop laughing in the middle of the store. Diane would find fun in everything.
She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Every holiday she would bake treats and goodies for neighbors, friends and family. She loved to knit and crochet, often making slippers and blankets. Family times were a huge enjoyment for her and were a critical part of her of her life. At every opportunity she would donate to charities and people and animals in need.
She is survived by daughters Erin and Ashley, brothers Paul Halttunen, Matt Halttunen, and Kurt Halttunen. She is also survived by granddogs Meiko, Toby, and Lana. She was always up to babysit the dogs and would laugh for hours at their bumbling antics. She enjoyed taking all the dogs on walks whether it was around the block or in the park. She also had cats that were dear to her heart, they will continued to be cared for by family.
She is preceded in death by father Paul Halttunen, mother Ann (Halttunen) Fandry, step father Don Fandry, and dear companion Jenessa Cooper.
These few paragraphs cannot begin to cover the depth of Diane’s love of life, family, and friends. She will always be missed, remember, and celebrated.
As per her wishes there will be no services. Family does intend to do a small get together to celebrate Diane in life.
