Obituary for Dennis Sheets

Dennis Michael Sheets, 53, of Harlowton, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, in Drummond of natural causes.

He was born May 19, 1962, in Bozeman to John and Helena Knopp Sheets. He and his family lived in Clinton the majority of his growing-up years. The family spent many years logging together in western Montana.

On Aug. 3, 1995, he married Amy Robinson in Coeur d'alene, Idaho. The couple and their sons, Brandon Sheets and Cody Robinson, resided in Winifred for several years. They moved to Harlowton after their daughter, Dana Sheets, joined the family.

He loved spending time logging in the woods. He enjoyed working on his equipment and firewood. His free time was spent with family and visiting with everyone! He could not go to a parts store or any town in Montana and not find someone to visit with.

Survivors include his wife, Amy; son, Brandon Sheets and his half brother, Larry "L.J." Charles; daughter, Dana Sheets; stepson, Cody Robinson; "adopted" son, Nathan Ramsdale; mother, Helena Knopp Sheets; sisters, Kim Sheets, Karen Souders and Judy Sheets; and brother, Dave Sheets. He is also survived by nephews, Jonathan (Gen) and Davy (Janice) Sheets, Joshua (Barb) and Justin Ailport, Keelan and Jaden Tinseth; great-nephews, Rocky and John Ailport, and Trygg Sheets. Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Deborah Robinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his dad, John Sheets, and two brothers-in-law, Dick Souders and Rocky Ailport.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Clinton Community Center, with a potluck to follow. A Celebration of Life open house will take place in Harlowton on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Youth Center. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or a fund of your choice.

Dennis the Menace the Michael the Sheets (the name he gave himself as a young boy) was a loving father, son, brother, husband, uncle, cousin and friend. He fought hard to stay with us as long as he could. He will be greatly missed by us all.
