Dennis Ruana Sr.

MISSOULA - Dennis R. Ruana Sr., 73, of Missoula, passed away at his home Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.





He was born March 25, 1935, in New Leipzig, N.D., the son of Helmi and Rudolph Ruana. He attended high school in Missoula.





On July 3, 1954, Denny married Joyce Richardson.





Denny worked at Bonner Mill for nine years before becoming self-employed building homes. He loved skiing, hunting and spending his time with his family and friends. Denny loved the Lord, was hard working, and was kind and generous to all.





He is preceded in death by his parents.





His family includes his wife of 54 years, Joyce Ruana; daughter, Vicki (John) Deffinbaugh; three sons, Bud (Linda) Ruana, Dave (Phyllis) Ruana and Don (Cindy) Ruana; seven grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Rae) Ruana, Rudy (Sarah) Ruana; and sisters, Ilona (Vic) Hangas and Lea Nordstrom.





Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Garden City Funeral Home with Wally Tucker officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s community room.





The family suggests that memorials be made to hospice or a charity of your choice.
