Dennis Curry, 74, of Lolo passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at his home after a long battle with COPD. A memorial mass and interment in the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and online condolences can be left at gardencityfh.com.
Dennis Earl Curry, son of Edward and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Baumgartner) Curry, was born November 2, 1949 in Spokane, Washington. He attended grade schools in Spokane until the family moved to Missoula in July of 1963. Dennis graduated from Loyola High School in 1968. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and South Korea where he served as a small arms repair specialist. After being honorably discharged, Dennis worked as a sawyer in Alaska and Northern Montana. He was employed by Burlington Northern, Louisiana Pacific, and Roseburg Forest Products.
Dennis was an accomplished trap shooter, participating in shooting events across the United States. He loved to play cribbage, winning many tournaments, and he was a member of a local club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dennis was a devoted son, brother, uncle, patriot, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Art (Jacquie) Curry of Carson City, NV; David (Diane) Curry of Missoula; nephew Ryan (Mary) Curry of Missoula; niece Dovie Burton of Jackson, MI; niece, Meredith Curry of Phoenix, AZ; nephew, Douglas (Kelly) Curry of Bolingbrook, IL; and several cousins and extended family.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Elsie.
