Dennis M. Berger was born to Marcus and Margaret (Kary) Berger on August 8, 1947, in Mandan, North Dakota. He passed away February 17, 2025, at St. Patrick hospital in Missoula Montana, he is survived by his wife on 56 years Colleen Young Berger, his three children Tiffany, Terrah, and Dennis (D.J.). He also is survived by the two loves of his live, Diegel Mac and Tyann, his grandchildren.

Dennis was predeceased in death by his mother and father, as well as his brothers Lucas, Bernie, Ray, Jim, Henry, and Frank. He is also Predeceased by his sisters, Gladys, Lorraine, Mitzie, Donna, Judy, and Marge.

Dennis is survived by one sister, Sally, and one brother, Monte. Both residing in Mandan North Dakota.

Dennis also had many nieces and nephews, too many to list, as well as great nieces and nephews.

Dennis’ whole life was trucking, it was his world, and he lived for that business. The business consumed his life, and he wouldn’t have had it any other way.

"My dad was the heart of our family, the unwavering center of our world. To his three children and two grandchildren, he was everything. He was the one we turned to, the fixer of every problem, big or small. I was Mouse, Tiff was Tipper Toes, and D.J. was D.J., his junior Dennis. His patience was truly one of a kind. He never gave up on the people he loved. He gave endlessly, asking for nothing in return. His presence was a constant, a comforting certainty. You could always count on him, no matter what. He had a way of making you feel like you were never a burden, even when you knew you were asking too much.

For me, he was a lifeline. He helped me raise my son, selflessly giving up his mornings so I could rest. That's just the kind of man he was. I will forever miss his big head poking in my door “Tarrah Lynn!” He embodied everything a father should be: loving, supportive, and unconditionally present. And his love for my mother was a beautiful thing to witness – a testament to a lifetime of devotion. He was, quite simply, irreplaceable."

There will be a celebration of life later this year, between the Flu and the bad road’s deep snow, we don’t feel it would be safe for people who would have to travel a great distance. We don’t know where the services will be. Dennis had been sick for a long time, but of course we’re never prepared for it to end.
