Della Marie (Heydon) Wolery, 71, of Stevensville, Montana passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019, at St Patrick Hospital in Missoula surrounded by her loving family.
Della was born February 18, 1948, in Havre, MT to Franklin and Alma (Skonord) Heydon. She grew up on the family farm north of Joplin in her younger years. Upon graduating from Joplin High School in 1966, she furthered her education at Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA until early 1968 and completed her business and computer programming at the Northwest School of Business at Lynnwood, WA, in 1968.
On October 25th, 1969, she married Ronald Glenn Wolery in Joplin, MT. The couple lived in Washington, Alaska, Oregon and eventually moved home to Joplin, Montana in 1976 where they would raise their two daughters and son. She worked at their grocery and meat processing businesses for almost 30 years, until they retired and closed the B n’ W Food Farm in August 2010. For the past 9 years, she enjoyed living with Ron in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley and Kootenai Creek Village in Stevensville, MT, and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage next month.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her family meant the world to her. Della absolutely loved watching and being with her children and grandchildren. She was proud to see them be accomplished in their careers, schooling, and all of the activities they enjoyed. Della was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed being a part of the music ministry playing the piano at services and with the Sunday School children. She loved to read and exchange books with friends, play cards, watch movies and her favorite TV/game shows.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; three children and their families, Jana (Troy) Hansen, Mankato, MN, Joni (Jason) Larson, Florence, MT, and Joel (Amber) Wolery, Rochester, MN; four grandchildren Taylor and Tristan Hansen, and Jaidyn and Jaxon Larson; two siblings and their families, Darlys Heydon (Janet Remlinger), Sun City West, AZ, Kenny (Lila) Heydon, Post Falls, ID; four brother and sister-in-law’s and their families Darryl (Ruth) Wolery, Seeley Lake, MT, Rick (Elia) Wolery, El Centro, CA, Loren (Linda) Wolery, Turner, MT, and Gail (Monty) Kantorowicz, Seeley Lake, MT, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Della is preceded in death by her father Franklin Heydon, mother and step-father Alma and Lloyd Hadford, in-laws Elvyn and Eileen Wolery, sister-in-law Mary Ann Wolery, and dear friend Eldora “Dodo” Rosling.
A celebration of life will be held at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula, MT, at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 26th, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending memorial contributions to Bethel Lutheran Church in Joplin, MT.
