– Delbert W. "Del" McDonald, 64, a long term resident of The Village in Missoula passed away.

Del was born March 8, 1951, in Lebanon, Oregon, to James and Della McDonald. As a young man he lived in Twin Bridges and completed training at the Job Corp, as a production welder.

He worked as a production welder in Seattle and Portland. He resided in Seattle with Gayle Cooke, working as a maintenance worker for the Seattle King Dome, Seattle University and the Downtown Hilton. He had pride working for the Hilton, but enjoyed working at King Dome to watch his favorite professional teams the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks.

Del enjoyed collecting baseball cards, ice skating, building and flying kites, music, movies, friends, family and volunteering as a health conscious (skinny) Santa.

In 2011 he returned to Missoula to be with his and family and became a Griz fan.

He was preceded in death by brother Ralph McDonald. Survivors include mother Della Mae; two brothers, James (Patti) McDonald and Michael (Malinda) McDonald of Missoula; three sisters, Dorothy (Ed) Hurtado of Rye, Colorado, Nancy (Cayley) McLaughlin and Donna Wax of Missoula; 14 nieces and nephews and long term friend and companion Gayle Cooke of Seattle.

Services to celebrate Delbert's life will be at a later time. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
