Our beloved friend, Deb Anne Naeb, passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor in Missoula on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at age 61.
She was born to Virginia and Herb Naeb on Aug. 6, 1953, in Oakland, California. Deb grew up outside Denver and moved to Montana fresh out of high school.
Anyone who knew Deb knew what an amazing, awesome person she was. She had an incredible zest for life. The fire in her eye and heart was matched only by her faming red hair. Although she had a long battle with multiple health issues, she never had time to talk about them or let them hold her back from a full life. A life of dog sledding, shuttling, raising her son Syd, hunting, fishing, camping, picking huckleberries (and wild strawberries) were some of the things that made her a true Montana mountain woman. At her home in Clinton, she kept bees, gardened, canned and took care of a multitude of animals.
She also enjoyed traveling and in her travels it led her to attend Rainbow gatherings. Among the adventures she had, some of her most memorable were her family vacations to the Oregon coast and her trip to Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herb Naeb. Survivors include her son Syd, longtime friend Sue Weidner, mother Virginia, sister Pam, brother Bruce, a multitude of relatives and a copious amount of friends.
A celebration of Deb's life will be held at the Orchard Homes Country Life Center, 2537 S. Third St. W., on Tuesday, Nov. 11, starting at 3 p.m. It is a potluck and please wear your favorite tie-dye.
