Dave William Towe passed away at home unexpectedly on May 11, 2017. He was born to William and Medora Towe on June 9, 1958 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He grew up in the Missoula area and went to Willard Grade School and attended Hellgate High School.
Dave never married. He worked as a laborer in Missoula until the late 70’s when he moved to Glendive during the oil boom. After the boom, he returned to Missoula for a short time before moving to Challis, ID for work. After Idaho, he came back to Missoula briefly before moving to Alaska where he worked first in Valdez and then Anchorage in a variety of jobs. He then returned to Missoula for good, settling in the dry wall business working for various contractors.
Along with Rob Redfield, they started their own dry wall hanging business, Eagle Drywall. They worked many years together until Rob called it quits and Dave continued working by himself over a career that lasted 25 years.
In Dave’s spare time, he liked going to the movies and watching DVD’s on the flat screen, cooking on the grill and going to the cabin at Holland Creek. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping, particularly with good friends Al Hintz and Mike Woodard. He thought birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas spent with family and friends was the best!
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Medora Towe; infant siblings, Billy and Gene; maternal grandparents Reinhold Bierwagen and Lydia Bohnet Bierwagen paternal grandparents Jessie S. Towe and Sarah Trumbo Towe; niece Alex Quin Towe; uncles and aunts, Roger and Curt Bierwagen, Lyla MaGee and Ruby Towe Hudsen and Clifford H. Towe. Survivors include his brothers, Cliff Towe and Larry Towe and his wife Shelley; nieces Hailey and Jory Towe; aunts and uncles, Wyona Malatare and family, Larry MaGee, Carol Williams Bierwagen and family and dozens of cousins, too many to list.
A Memorial Reception is scheduled for Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2pm at the Community Room of Garden City Funeral Home. Everyone is invited to bring a pot luck dish to share.
