David "Dave" Love, 76, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital.
Dave was born in Arlee on Aug. 1, 1937, to Charles and Grace (Galvin) Love. Dave spent his childhood and attended school in Arlee. After high school, Dave joined the Navy and served active duty and in the reserves. After his service in the Navy, Dave made a career working road construction, building many of the bridges in western Montana.
He belonged to the local carpenters union and also worked in Idaho and Washington. Dave loved to play cards, camp, hunt and most of all spend time with his family. His daughter and granddaughters meant the world to him.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace; brothers Ray, Art, Chuck, Earn, Bill, Jack and Bud; sisters June and Doris; and wife Vi.
He is survived by his daughter Edie Love; granddaughters Hailey and Christen; and great-granddaughter Kendall. He is also survived by his companion Gloria and special friend Patty, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating Dave's life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Garden City Funeral Home. A potluck reception will follow.
