David Eric Allen, 47, passed away at his sister’s home Friday, May 17, 2019 in Missoula MT where he had been residing for the past 3 years.
He was born on July 7th 1971 to Butch and Darlene Allen in Kalispell, MT and overcame his first health obstacle, open heart surgery at 6 months old. David lived throughout Western Montana with his family for the majority of his life and attended public schools in Kalispell, Helena, Missoula finally graduating from Lincoln County High School in 1990.
David enjoyed the outdoors and was a persistent hunter and fisher. Although he often came home empty handed, he liked to talk of his memorable hunting trips to Dillon where he once bagged a 4-point bull elk or an Alaskan deep-sea fishing trip he was able to participate in bringing home halibut for all. Dave was also fond of riding his 4 wheelers especially at the sand dunes in St. Anthony Idaho or his snowmobile with whomever he could tag along with during the long winter months in Eureka.
He spent many hours watching movies, playing video games, listening to music and was a great source for all of us when we couldn’t remember a song all we had to do was sing a couple words or hum a few notes and he would bust out with the title. Dave took great pride in keeping the yard perfectly groomed and helping out around the house wherever he was needed. He cherished the time spent with family most notably when they were all together his eyes shining mischievously during the many pranks, he was always attempting, being a good sport when more times than naught they backfired on him.
David had a big heart with great love and empathy for others. He was always trying to think of ways to help someone in need. He was especially a great comfort and help to his ailing mother in her final years and could never quite shake the loss of her.
He was preceded in deaths by his mother and father. Survivors include two brothers Tom Allen, Gregg (Kim) Allen both of Eureka; two sisters Darla (Dan) Carvey, Heidi (Tom) Cheff both of Missoula; many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of David’s life will be held 4PM at 151 Iowa Flats RD, Eureka Montana on June 8th 2019, followed by a graveside service 4PM at the Fortine Cemetery on June 9th 2019.
