MISSOULAâ,**– On Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, the angels received Darrel Lee Jorgenson Sr., 74, of Missoula. His heart was unable to go on anymore.
He was born in Hettinger, N.D., in 1938. While young, his family moved to Montana and he was raised in the Arlee and Polson areas. He loved playing basketball and football in school, lettering in both.
He married Karen (McAuther) and they formed a family together with four children, Sidney Long (husband William), Carla Chrisman (husband Rod), Terrie Kamrud (husband Lu) and Darrel Jorgenson Jr., all a blessing.
Darrel worked most of his life as a long-haul truck driver. He also was a farmer of crops and cattle, and was even a bus driver. His personality was larger than life! He could be the laugh of the party, a prankster on occasion and the best dancer on the floor. He loved camping and CB radio club, and was a member of Eagles and Moose Lodge.
He married Jeannie (Taylor) and they spent a lot of years together traveling the U.S. seeing family and making good friends.
He is survived by three of his children; grandchildren, Jonathan Hamilton, Cristal Hamilton, Jamie Chrisman, Josh Chrisman, Belinda Palmer, Chad Upky, Justin McGowan and Kendra Spencer; great-grandchildren, Skyla, James, Mathew, Calynn, Riley, Jayce, Jackson, Madison and Justin; siblings, Rita Pilgrim (husband Bill), twin brothers Jerry Jorgenson (wife June) and Gene Jorgenson (wife Marge); and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be at his daughter Sidney's home at noon Saturday, Jan. 19. Spreading of his ashes will take place in the near future.
