Darlene Dorothy West

Darlene Dorothy West, of Missoula, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Village Health Care Center. She was born on July 23, 1937 to August and Bertha Baier. She was one of fifteen children.

Darlene was a devoted grandmother. She never missed an opportunity to share her grandchildren's accomplishments. Her grandchildren gave her many years of happiness. They will truly miss her.

Darlene was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack R. Burger Sr., her second husband, David West Sr. and her son Jack R. Burger, Jr.

Darlene is survived by her children: Jennifer Taggert of Shelley, ID; Lorrie (Frank) Hegel of Missoula; John (Candace) Burger of New Braunfels, TX; Linda (Martin) Anderson of Marion, MT; David (Christina) West Jr. of Vidor, TX; Andrea (Andy) Edwards of Aurora, CO.

Darlene is survived by her grandchildren: Brandon Burke of Idaho Falls, ID; Ryan (Brenda) Burke of Idaho Falls, ID; Daniel Hegel of Missoula; Molly Fisher of Marion, MT; Allison Burger of Riverside, CA; Bridger West of Vidor, TX; Cory Burger, New Braunfels, TX; Devon (Charlene) Burger of New Braunfels, TX; Zachary Burger of New Braunfels, TX; and Walker Edwards of Aurora, CO.

Darlene is survived by her great-grandchildren: Isaac Burke of Idaho Falls, ID and Damien Burger of New Braunfels, TX.

A special thank you to the nursing staff at the Village Health Care Center, "The Pearl Garden"; the loving care they gave Darlene was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.

Cremation is under the care of Garden City Funeral Home & Crematory in Missoula. Honoring Darlene's wishes, no memorial services are planned at this time. A family gathering and celebration of Darlene's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, (support.pdf.org) in Darlene's memory.
