Darlene M. Magnussen, 85, of Missoula, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 of natural causes at home with her family by her side.
Born Darlene Stumvoll May 3, 1930, she was raised in the Snowshoe Valley. After highschool she worked as a telephone operator in St. Ignatius. On June 21, 1953, she gave birth to her first son Robert.
She then moved on to find her passion cooking. It was then that she met her husband Ron, a truck driver who made it a point to stop and see her on his way through town. They were married July 19, 1963 and moved to Missoula, where she became a cook for 4B's. She later moved on to work at various nursing homes throughout Missoula.
Darlene and Ron were surprised with twins, Johnna and John, born April 28, 1964. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; hardworking, honest and very much devoted to her family.
She loved her "Sunday drives" which were always fit into the family schedule; rummage sales were another must.
She will surely be missed. The family would also like to extend a thank you to Partners Hospice for helping take care of our beloved grandmother.
She is survived by her children Robert, John and Johnna; as well as her grandchildren Vannessa, Brian, Mikey, niece Melody; and 5 great grandchildren, Cody, Eathan, Tegan, Grayson and Easton. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband Ron.
The family will hold a graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Partners Hospice. Condolences for the family may be left at www.missoulafuneralhomes.com
