SEELEY LAKE – Darlene Ann Hill, 70, is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior after almost a yearlong battle with cancer.
Dolly, a full blood Czech, was born to James Vincent and Florence Josephine Palecek on March 27, 1943, in Chicago, Ill. Darlene was her mother's "Little Darling." She and her older brother "Vinnie," who she dearly loved, grew up in Chicago attending their father's concerts; he was a first-chair bass player in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She followed in his footsteps and became a first-chair bass player in high school. As a young girl, Dolly was also very involved in horseback riding, winning many awards, and as she grew older began training horses at Keith Line Stables.
On Aug. 16, 1963, Dolly married Ralph Prazak, Sr., and they resided in Chicago, ultimately having four children together. In 1975, Darlene followed her love of horses, farming and the outdoors and relocated with her children to Seeley Lake, where she remained for the rest of her life.
Dolly enjoyed Bible camps and concerts with her friends, as well as horseback rides and many fun and adventurous trips. She was a gifted artist, cake decorator, sawyer, wood carver (with chainsaw), and Skidder operator – a lady of many talents.
Darlene is survived by three daughters, Susan Cantrell of Missoula, Karen Prazak of Missoula, Sandra (Wayne) Cahoon of Seeley Lake, and her son, Ralph Prazak, Jr. of Missoula. She has seven grandchildren, Wyatt, Steven, Shania of Missoula and David (Bekah), Chelsea, Christian and Joshua of Seeley Lake; and one great-grandson, Chase of Seeley Lake.
She was preceded in death by her loving father, mother and brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Faith Chapel on April 28 at 4 p.m.
