Obituary for Danny Lee Allen

Danny Lee Allen passed away on Halloween morning, October 31, 2015. He was a proud father to sons Mathew and Paul, and always had a big smile for his granddaughter, Meredith. Danny was born February 19, 1951, in Missoula, and rarely found reason to leave the Montana he loved so much. His favorite times were spent fishing and traversing the old backroads of mountains he'd known since youth, hunting for treasures and keepsakes along the way. He worked at Bonner Mill for 25 years and loved every minute, playing what he called his "grown-up version of Nintendo", pushing buttons on heavy machinery. He loved to share stories with friends and family and was the oldest (and he'd say wisest) of eight brothers and sisters. Danny was generous in life and death and was able to be a cornea donor, for which his family is very proud.

Danny was preceded in death by Mathew Daniel Allen, son; George Jacob Allen, Sr., stepfather; Donna Lou (Allen) Brewer, mother; Crystal Ann (Allen) Peters, sister; George David Allen, brother, and Shane Ferguson, brother-in-law. He is survived by his son, Paul Allen, daughter-in-law, Thea Varichak, and granddaughter Meredith. He is also survived by Patty (Allen) Cottril (Victor), sister; Mike Allen, brother; Maggie (Allen) Waldvogel-Dratz (Steve), sister; Michele Prochet, sister; Jeff Prochet (Deborah), brother; Janna Allen (sister in law), and Michael Peters (brother in law). He was married and divorced to Marjorie Allen (Smith) and Laurel Allen (Stevens). He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to friend John Bramsen and all of Danny's many friends throughout the years.

A celebration and service will be held Saturday, November 7, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Missoula, at 11 AM. Memorials and remembrances can be made to a local charity of your choice. Sunset Memorial Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Condolences for Danny's family may be sent to www.missoulafuneralhomes.com
