Daniel W. Jones, 84, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula following a period of declining health.
Dan was born March 31, 1938 in Walla Walla, WA, to Nellie and Edgar Jones. He graduated in high school in Washington before joining the Army. Dan faithfully and honorably served his country.
Dan loved camping, golfing and generally being outside. He and his wife, Pat, were able to travel overseas and they treasured this time together. Dan’s sense of humor would be described as “dry”, and could often catch unsuspecting people off guard. He was a fantastic storyteller and his laugh will be missed. One of the greatest joys in his life was being able to be a grandfather.
Left to cherish Dan’s memory are his wife Patricia Serba; his daughters Danna (Dave) Herrell and Darcy Jones Bokath; his grandchildren: Brenna, Caroline, Ansley and Brooks; Pat’s children: Kirk (Melanie) Zander, Todd (Tammy) Zander, Brett Zander and Greg Zander along with their children and grandchildren; his siblings: Les, Sandra, Elsie, Bea and John; as well as many treasured extended family and friends.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory, 1705 West Broadway, Missoula.
