Dana Lynn Baxter, 58, of Arlee, was called home Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
She was born June 19, 1955, in Hot Springs to John and Isabelle Welch. Dana grew up on her family's ranch, where she developed a lifetime love of riding horses. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1973.
On Dec. 14, 1985, Dana married her best friend and soul mate, Randy Baxter. The couple lived in Missoula and the surrounding areas, where they raised their six daughters. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 22 years of service.
Dana loved camping, fishing and spending time at the lake. She was a proud member of the Patriot Guard and active member of Chicks 'n' Chaps.
A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, Granny and friend to many, she was a passionate supporter of all Armed Forces past and present. Dana and Randy loved traveling the country on their Harley, and she spent every possible moment enjoying her kids and grandkids.
Dana was preceded in death by her father, John Welch, and grandparents.
Survivors include her mother, Isabelle Welch; siblings Teri Foster, John Welch, Dacy Holland and their families; her husband, Randy Baxter; six daughters, Heather, Mary Ann, Sara, Daci, Shawna and Jaylyn; and their families including 20 grandchildren.
Service and potluck reception will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Lonepine Hall with burial immediately to follow at the Murray Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks instead donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Shriners Hospital for Children
