Dan Merle Schmidt

July 8, 1969 — June 24, 2022

Dan M Schmidt

On Friday, June 24th, 2022, Dan passed away unexpectedly in his home. Dan will always be remembered for his contagious laugh & playful childish humor.

Dan was born July 8, 1969 in Miles City, MT, to Ervin and MaryLu Schmidt. He was a triplet and the youngest of 5 children. Dan was raised in Missoula, where he met lifelong friends. Dan attended and graduated from Big Sky High School. During his high school years Dan met his high school sweetheart, Jodi Clasby. They were married in April of 1989 and two years later in 1991, they welcomed their daughter, Meagan, into the world. Dan was a proud and loving dad. For many years Dan worked as a produce man before eventually finding his love of tile work. He started his own company, Blue Ribbon Tile. He was very proud of his work, and rightfully so. He was really good at it. In 2011, Dan started dating and fell in love with Carisa "Cris" & they began their life together. They were married in April of 2015. Together they lived in Lolo & raised Boston Terriers. Dan enjoyed playing dice & cards, working hard & spending time with "his girls", his wife, his daughter & his granddaughter, Jovi. He loved being Papa, his face would light up whenever she was around & she had him wrapped around her little finger.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, MaryLu and Ervin Schmidt & his first love Jodi. He was survived by his wife Cris, his daughter Meagan and granddaughter Jovi, his siblings Christ (Trina), Lori, Doug (Kim), Dawn (Jessie), and all of his nieces and nephews. A memorial BBQ will be held in Dan's honor on Saturday July 2nd at 3pm at 13085 Sun Ray Lane in Lolo, MT. Dan will be forever loved and sorely missed.
