Dale Michael Wisby, 74, of Lolo passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at St. Patrick Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
He was born June 7, 1947, in Racine, WI to Richard and Elaine Wisby. He was raised in Racine and graduated from Horlick High School.
A few years after high school Dale joined the Navy where he served as a hospital corpsman for two years. After the Navy he returned to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Dale later moved to Montana and worked for the Forest Service, BFI and the U.S. Postal Service.
In August of 1986, Dale married Laurie Frame. The two were married for 22 years before divorcing and raised two children, Tyler and Jenna. Dale’s children and three grandchildren were the light of his life.
In his free time Dale was found gardening, camping, hunting and golfing. Later in life Dale enjoyed snow-birding in Yuma, AZ. When back in Montana he enjoyed spending time on his property in Lolo, while having bonfires and enjoying the view from the bank of the Bitterroot River with close friends. He was a devoted Montana Grizzly, Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Elaine.
He is survived by his children Tyler (Whitney) Wisby and Jenna (Josh) Cary; Stepmother: Jean Wisby; Siblings: Karen (Phil) Symons, Richard Wisby and Robert (Debbie) Wisby; Grandsons: Declan & Killian Wisby and Henry Cary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3rd at 11:30 a.m. at Garden City Funeral Home.
A smaller burial service will follow at the Western Montana Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ropers Lounge at 3 pm after the burial service.
