Dale Leroy Wingo, 66, of Missoula passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.
Dale was born March 5, 1955, in Missoula to Gene and Mary Jane Wingo. Growing up he was quite the athlete. Especially exceling in basketball and track. After graduation from Hellgate High School in 1974 he took up playing mens fastpitch and developed into a phenomenal pitcher.
In September of 1976 Dale married Jan Johnson in Missoula. Together they raised two boys Brad and Joe. Later on, Dale was blessed with another son, Malachai. Dale worked for Mountain Line Transportation for over 20 years.
Dale loved spending his time with his boys doing all things outdoors. You could usually find him hunting, and most recently fishing. After his retirement in March of 2020 he purchased his dream land on the Clearwater River in Kooskia Idaho. One of his newer past times was watching the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Ella play fast pitch softball.
He is survived by his once wife Jan Wingo, Missoula; three sons and their families Brad (Ashley), Missoula, Joe (Heidi) Darby, and Malachai, Missoula; one brother Rodger, Florence; one very special granddaughter Ella, Missoula; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m.
