Clifton "Doug" Farmer, 77, of Clinton, peacefully entered into eternal rest Monday, Sept. 29, 2014. He passed away at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula surrounded by his loving family.
His hobbies included golfing, watching golfing and NASCAR racing on the long tracks. In fact, he loved to tailgate while driving. He received lots of sign language in his day.
He spent two tours in the Air Force and worked most of his life in the mill industry. He became a foreman early in his career for Champion International. All who worked with him enjoyed and respected him very much. He was a great listener and loved to talk.
He fell in love with the love of his life, Delphine, the moment he first met her. He had a very special relationship with all of his children and grandchildren as well. He was known to his grandchildren as "Poppy."
He was preceded in death by mother, Alice; father, Leo; and son, Daniel Field. Survived by his wife, Delphine; children, Kelly, Lance and Leslie; stepchildren, Diane Field, Debbie Maplethorpe, Monty (Jodie) Field, Shawn Field and Shane (Debbie) Field; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, too many to mention.
He will be deeply missed and in our hearts forever!
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the Hellgate Lions Club Memorial Park in the Big Red Barn. Turn left on First Street across from Town Pump and follow to the end.
