Clifford "Boots" Staiger, 70, of Frenchtown, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at his home in Frenchtown of natural causes.
He was born on the farm by Hebron, North Dakota, to Reinhardt "Reiny" and Freida Staiger. As a youngster he worked on his Dad's farm and was educated in Hebron.
On Nov. 23, 1989, he married Judy Wollman in Missoula. The couple lived in Missoula until 1995, they then moved to Frenchtown.
Clifford was an over-the-road truck driver most of his life for various companies. He drove for Jim Palmer Trucking/Wil-Trans at the time of his death.
Clifford's passions included watching NASCAR and old western movies. He also liked 4-wheeling and hunting. The highlight of his life was in 2012 when he and Judy went on an Alaskan cruise. Fellow driver, Roy Duncan, was with as well. He was a loving husband, dad, brother, Grampa and friend.
He was a member of the Frenchtown Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Zacharias; aunts and uncles; brothers-in-law Clarence and Zack; sister-in-law Christina and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of Frenchtown; two sons and their families, Michael (Brittany) and Rob; two daughters and their families, LaRae (Paul) Genualdo and Edessa Mitzel; sister Elaine (Chuck) Ebach and family; uncle Ray Staiger and family; aunt Ida (Wilbert) Sailer and family; aunt Leona Staiger and family; mother-in-law Susie Wollman; many cousins and nieces and nephews; along with four special grandsons, Jeshual, Niko, Ivey and Andrew; and many many truck driver friends across the country.

Memorial services will be at Frenchtown Community Church in Frenchtown at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, with Pastor Scott Davis officiating. A reception will follow at the Frenchtown Community Church.
