Clifford Edward Haemker, 93, of Missoula, passed away on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Village Health Care Center of natural causes.
He was born April 26, 1920, in Palatine, Ill., where he grew up with his family.
In 1941 he was drafted into the Army, serving under General Patton in Africa and Europe. He was honorably discharged.
On Oct. 11, 1947, he married Mary Lou Annen. They raised their two children, Mark Haemker and Gail Kerscher in Arlington Heights, Ill. In 1980 they moved to Stevensville, and in 1990 they relocated to Missoula.
Clifford was an avid sports fan and was active in golf and bowling. He enjoyed watching all sports on TV, especially football and golf. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou; his son, Mark Haemker of Arlington Heights, with granddaughters, Heidi Haemker and Heather Haemker; his daughter, Gail Kerscher (George) of Missoula, and grandchildren, Wesley Kerscher (Kelley) of San Marcos, Calif., Zoey Hallam (Steven) of Billings and Geordy Kerscher (Rebecca) of Missoula; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at First Lutheran Church, 2808 South Ave. W., Missoula on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by services and a reception. A private burial will follow
