Clementine Ellenor Schmidt, 93, of Missoula passed away, peacefully, in her home, on Friday, February 5, 2021, of natural causes.
She was born on May 14, 1927, in Mandan, North Dakota, to Jacob and Julia Schlosser. She grew up on the family farm with her 10 siblings. Clementine attended Mandan High School, graduated and taught at the country school she attended, for a short time.
On August 13, 1946 she married Leonard Schmidt at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Crown Butte, North Dakota. The couple lived in Mandan until moving to Missoula in 1965. Clem and Leonard owned and operated Southside Chevron along with their two sons, Bruce and Jeff for 11 years. A new opportunity took them to the Sparks-Reno area where they lived until returning to Missoula in 1992.
Clem was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Missoula. She loved gardening and was an avid seamstress in her younger years.
Clementine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard on February 27,1997 and daughter Marla on February 23, 2016.
Survivors include two sons and their families, Bruce (Lynn) Schmidt, Prescott Valley, Arizona, Jeff (Ellen) Schmidt, Missoula and daughter, Loree (Dennis) Herr, and family, Missoula. Clementine enjoyed 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
