Clara Redman, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1935, in Polson MT to loving parents, Leroy Thomas (Roy) Blank and Thelma Joyce Griffin Blank.
Clara dedicated most of her work life to being a custodian and boss at the University of Montana, where she exhibited a strong work ethic and a kind heart towards everyone she met. Her commitment to her career was unwavering, and she touched the lives of many through her hard work and dedication.
In her personal life, Clara's warm and welcoming personality shone through. She created a loving home where all were embraced with open arms. Clara's love for her children was evident in everything she did; especially cherished was the special connection, as well as the loving looks she shared with Lyle.
Aside from her professional and family life, Clara had a passion for various crafts that brought joy to her heart. Her creativity knew no bounds, and she poured her love into every creation she made.
Clara is survived by her loving children: Lyle Z. "Rick" (Tina) Redman, Walter "Bugs" (Karen) Redman, Thelma (Randy) Batt, Lois (Alan) Daniels, and Gail (Joel) Harrison, her grandchildren Jenny, Brandon, Roy, Rainier, Andrea, Lyle, Tylar, Jesse, Dan, Meagan, Tavin, and Rayann. She is also survived by in-laws Ann Watson, Cletta and Terry Pickens, Carl Ask, and Carol Redman, as well as 25 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Thelma, her husband, Lyle, as well as four grandchildren, Blaine Redman, Steven and Jacob Redman, and Kristine Faye Redman-Brester.
Thank you to the staff of Enhabit Hospice for their loving care and to Pastor David who brought Clara joy with his songs and prayer.
A graveside service to honor Clara and Lyle’s lives will be held at Lake View Cemetery in Polson on August 5, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor David Andrew officiating. A potluck gathering will follow at Boettcher Park by the golf course in Polson. The services will be a celebration of Clara and Lyle’s lives and the impact they had on those around them. Before the graveside service, Clara and Lyle will be taken on one last ride by their family to honor their love of car trips. The trip will begin at Missoula City Cemetery on Monday, August 5 at 7:00 a.m. Like she practiced in her life, all are welcome to the services and no invite is needed.
Clara will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering love for family, and dedication to her work. Her legacy of love and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
